Our Election Aims and Promises
Our Island Candidates will be standing in the 2021 Isle of Wight Council Election with the following Aims:
To Work with Town & Parish Councils and give them power and the money to deal with local issues
To involve residents and businesses in policy and decision making.
To make sure every Council decision takes account of the needs of future generations
To change planning rules to protect our environment and support our UNESCO Biosphere
To sell off failed Council investments in mainland property and invest locally
To support our high streets with free parking
To set business rates at levels which will support new businesses
To take action against those those who wilfully leave buildings derelict to the detriment of our towns.
To make the case for and secure a public service obligation on cross Solent services to control fares and ensure regular sailings
To get Government to recognise we are an Island with the proper funding settlement that such recognition will bring.
